This is a prayer tree. Basically you write your wish or prayer on the paper and attach it to the tree - then it will come true. Personally I am a big fan of prayer myself, I'm just glad God hears mine.... I would be in serious trouble if I had to write them down.

That's really beautiful! Is it considered tacky to peek at the prayers? Because that's what I (a nosy one) would want to do.
That is awesome! We had a cross once at camp we did that too, but not nearly as many prayers as this tree...really cool. would love to read them all, although I'm sure I'd be drained by the end.
