It has been Buddha's birthday here and so there have been many celebrations on lately. We saw all these lanterns outside a temple and they were hanging them for Buddha's birthday.
Yes, that is a swatsticker (or how ever you spell it), it is a very common buddhist symbol.

Love the detail in the first shot. Those lanterns are beautiful. I like the second shot because it gives you a sense of scale. The temples must look amazing with the lanterns on them.
Those are so beautiful and festive!!

The lanterns have such beautiful color in them. Nice shots.

Wow..those are very detailed! I wonder what goes in to making them!
Love the photos of the prayer tree below too!
Those lanterns are just beautiful, I love the bright, pretty colors!!! Great shots!
I just love your "life in Korea" shots. I think you have a real gift for capturing these details! I'd love to see more!
I really like the second shot - just a great perpective of the culture and the contrast of colors. Great shots!
Oh, how COOL! I just love paper lanterns. I always want to buy some for my house, they are so pretty and colorful. Maybe once the kids are grown and OUT I can get some without the fear of them getting broken, lol!
How colorful and beautiful! It was only in the last few years that I learned the swastika was an ancient religious symbol and the Nazis just bastardized it.
Those are such beautiful festive colors!
I always love your photos. So colorful!
