It has been Buddha's birthday here and so there have been many celebrations on lately. We saw all these lanterns outside a temple and they were hanging them for Buddha's birthday.


Yes, that is a swatsticker (or how ever you spell it), it is a very common buddhist symbol.

Love the detail in the first shot. Those lanterns are beautiful. I like the second shot because it gives you a sense of scale. The temples must look amazing with the lanterns on them.

Oh, how COOL! I just love paper lanterns. I always want to buy some for my house, they are so pretty and colorful. Maybe once the kids are grown and OUT I can get some without the fear of them getting broken, lol!

How colorful and beautiful! It was only in the last few years that I learned the swastika was an ancient religious symbol and the Nazis just bastardized it.
