Playing around with Textures

Textures - this is something I know very little about, but I thought I would have a play around and see where I ended up.  The first two shots are images I really liked  and the last shot is created with the texture from the first shot... I'd love some feedback on it... Honestly I am not so sure whether I like the result or not.

As much as I love texture and use it all the time, I actually like the picture of the man better without it--it's so nice and sharp.

Great textures. I agree with Becky on the shot of the man. TFS!

I really like that first capture. (I love architectural details, even the mundane ones.) I do the worn look but I would erase more off of the man, just have it in the background.

Same here - that shot of the man is awesome by itself! Love the textured shot too though! ;)

I like it better without. They're both great shots. I love the conversion.

I like the feel of the last shot. Very old feel.

Great photos. I also like the texture. It gives it sort of an old feel. But without is amazing as well.

Very cool texture! I like the man both ways, for different reasons! good for you for stepping outside of the box and trying something new! :)

I love your texture work. I really think it worse on the first one. The second photo with the face is amazing. There is so much personality in that face.

I have to say the same thing about the texture on the man pic. I think that one looks awesome without it. But I love it on your first shot.
